Platinum Panda Coins
Within the world of Chinese
commemorative coins of precious metals, the
least-regarded yet most influential and compelling of
all collector coins for investment is the panda coin.
The essence of its appeal is not easily understood by
the average coin collector. Within Chinese platinum
coins, the panda coin also commands such special quality
that appears simple yet very remarkable.
The platinum
panda coins in fact represent the core of all Chinese
platinum coins, especially the most inconspicuous 1/20
ounce "mini panda" (Years 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997).
Basically all are rare finds in decent condition and to collect all 21
platinum panda coins is a difficult task to accomplish
even if money isn't an issue. |

For the longest time, the
Chinese people have favored the use of the name "white gold" to
"platinum". But in fact, white gold and platinum are two entirely
different concepts. Written on the early platinum coins in China, such
as the 1987 - 1990 platinum panda coins or the 1988 - 1999 platinum
Chinese zodiac coins, was "white gold" to mean "platinum".
